Yuzvendra Chahal is once again making a splash in England with his magical spin. Playing for Northamptonshire in the County Championship 2025, Chahal caught everyone’s attention with his brilliant performance against Kent.

This performance is further strengthening his efforts to make a place in the Indian Test team.
Chahal showed the magic of his spin in the match played against Kent in Canterbury. Even though he could not take wickets in the first innings, he showed how economical a bowler he is by bowling 8 maidens in 42 overs.
Yuzvendra Chahal’s Second Innings Heroics vs Kent
But the real wonder happened in the second innings, where Chahal’s magic worked, he took 4 wickets for just 51 runs in 30 overs.
His ball that clean bowled Kent batsman Ekansh Singh for 37 runs was just a sight to behold. The ball came in, swung in the air, and spun fast and took off the off stump. The spectators were also stunned.
Chahal also sent Ben Compton (17 runs), Matt Parkinson (2 runs), and Wes Agar (golden duck) to the pavilion. His clever and accurate bowling put Kent on the backfoot, although the match was drawn.
This form of Chahal has given hope to Northamptonshire that he will show wonders in both red and white ball.
Eyes on India Test Comeback
Last season too, Chahal took 19 wickets in 4 matches with a career best figure of 9/99 against Derbyshire. His brilliant bowling played a big role in taking Northamptonshire to the top ranking.
Chahal had then said, “I had a lot of fun last season. There is a great atmosphere in the dressing room, and I am eager to be a part of it again.”
India’s tour of England is coming in 2025, where there will be a series of 5 Test matches. Chahal is eager to capitalize on this opportunity. He has already said that he wants to stake his claim in the Indian Test team by performing well in county cricket.
Right now it is not easy to make a place among spinners like Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav, but Chahal is ready to fool everyone with his spin.
Northamptonshire coach Darren Lehmann also praises Chahal and says,
“He is one of the best leg spinners in the world. His presence is a big bonus for our team.”
So will Chahal be seen in the Indian Test jersey against England?
