Following India’s impressive victory in the Women’s ODI World Cup, the latest ICC rankings have been released.
Smriti Mandhana, who held the number one spot throughout the tournament, has now slipped to second place.
She has been replaced by South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt. This change comes after the World Cup final and semi-final, where Wolvaardt performed exceptionally well.

Wolvaardt’s runs break record
Wolvaardt scored centuries in both the semi-final and final. She scored a total of 571 runs, her most in a single edition. This boosted her rating to 814, a career-high.
Mandhana was also selected in the tournament’s Best Player team, along with Wolvaardt. India defeated South Africa by 52 runs at the DY Patil Stadium on Sunday.
Now, Jemimah Rodrigues shines! The 25-year-old batsman scored a match-winning century against Australia in the semi-final.
As a result, she climbed nine places to enter the top 10. In the same match, Phoebe Litchfield jumped 13 spots to reach 13th place (637 rating) thanks to her century.
Australia’s Ellyse Perry rose to seventh, sharing the spot with New Zealand’s Sophie Devine.
Devine has announced her retirement from this format. India’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur also rose four spots to 14th.
Bowling Rankings Shake-Up
The bowling charts have also seen a shake-up. South Africa’s Marizanne Kapp is now closest to the top spot.
Her 5/20 in the World Cup semi-final against England lifted her two places to 712 rating. She is currently challenging Sophie Ecclestone.
Australia’s Annabel Sutherland moved up one spot to sixth and Kim Garth to seventh. World Cup Player of the Tournament Deepti Sharma took seven wickets and scored 82 runs in the semi-finals and final. This moved her up one spot to fourth in the all-rounder rankings, surpassing Sutherland (388).
These rankings reflect how fiercely competitive women’s cricket has become. India’s victory not only brought the trophy but also propelled several players to new heights. These stars will be in for even more action in the upcoming matches.
