The Indian women’s cricket team has won the World Cup. This is the first time our team has won a global 50-over title.
The entire team is rejoicing after defeating South Africa by 52 runs in the final in Navi Mumbai.

Special meeting with the President after the victory
The team met with President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur presented her with jerseys signed by all the players and also showed her the World Cup trophy. The President congratulated the team and said that this is history-making.

The President congratulated the team and said that they have created history and have become role models for younger generation. She said that this team reflects India. They represent different regions, different social backgrounds, different circumstances but they are one Team — India.
The team includes girls from different regions and backgrounds, but they all played together. This victory is inspiring every young person.
What happened with PM Modi?
The team had previously met with PM Narendra Modi. Harmanpreet recalled their meeting in 2017, when the team was runner-up. Now, they have emerged as champions.

The PM asked the team to support the Fit India Movement. He advised them to promote fitness among girls and inspire the next generation with discipline.
