WPL 2025: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the schedule for the upcoming edition of the Women Premier League (WPL).
It is expected that the auction, which will be held in Bengaluru on December 15 this year, is going to be different, with the eyes of the players and franchise owners on each other.

WPL 2025: The team’s purchasing strategy
This auction of the third season of the Women’s Premier League is going to be something special. The BCCI has informed the five franchises about the date and venue of the auction.
According to Cricbuzz, a total of 19 slots can be filled in the auction this time, which will include 14 Indian and 5 foreign players. Everyone’s eyes are on these slots because it will be worth seeing who makes it to which team in these slots.
Fans of women’s cricket are very excited about this auction and they hope that there will be some great purchases this time as well.
WPL 2025: The purse value of the franchise
All five franchises have a collective purse of Rs. 16.7 crore. This amount is considered to be quite significant and hence the event is likely to end very soon.
Each team can have a maximum of 18 players in their squad, including six overseas players. The strategy of every team is going to be different in this time’s auction and it will be interesting to see which team makes its squad stronger.
Also, Gujarat Giants is the team with the most money in the auction this time. They have a maximum purse of Rs 4.4 crore and are going to fill four slots. They are followed by UP Warriors, who have a purse of Rs. 3.9 crore and have three slots to fill.
Royal Challengers Bangalore have a purse of Rs. 3.25 crore and will have to fill four slots. Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals have a purse of Rs 2.65 crore and Rs 2.5 crore respectively, and both teams have to fill four slots each.
Although the BCCI is yet to make an official announcement about the tournament window, media reports suggest that the third season of the tournament will be played between February and March.
Last season, Royal Challengers Bangalore won the title, and this time too, they will try their best to retain the title.
