WPL 2025 MUM vs DEL , Statement after the match
This was the first WPL match for Nikki Prasad and she made it memorable. While receiving the Player of the Match award after the match, she said,
I think this is the first WPL game for me. I wanted to express myself and make DC win. I definitely visualised before the match and managed to carry this out. I think the situation we were in, singles would have gotten us home. I wanted to strike boundaries in between as well. I was motivated to give my best.
Delhi captain Meg Lanning said,
That was way too stressful. I thought we did an excellent job to restrict them to 164. They looked to score well in excess of 200 but we bowled really well. Shikha Pandey bowled brilliantly. We batted well in patches, thankfully could get up with a win. Minu did a great job as well. The other bowlers also bowled well to keep them to 164. Niki did an excellent job. She came at a tricky time, Radha Yadav coming and hitting that six.
