The final of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 has started at the historic Lord’s ground in London, in which South Africa has made a great start against Australia.

South Africa captain Temba Bavuma won the toss and elected to bowl first and his fast bowler Kagiso Rabada shook the Australian batsmen in the beginning.
WTC Final 2025: Rabada’s Double Strike
Rabada’s flair was seen at the beginning of the match. In the seventh over, Rabada took two big wickets in the same over. First, Australia opener Usman Khawaja was caught by David Bedingham at slip on zero. Khawaja played 20 balls but could not score.
After this, on the very next ball, Cameron Green was also sent to the pavilion for just 4 runs, whose catch was taken by Aiden Markram at second slip. Australia’s team was in trouble at 12/2 in the beginning.
After this, Marco Jensen also showed his magic and gave Australia the third blow by dismissing Marnus Labuschagne for 17 runs. The ball took the inside edge of his bat and went into the wicketkeeper’s gloves.
Australia’s score was 53/3 in 19.5 overs, in which Steve Smith and Travis Head were at the crease. South Africa’s bowling put Australia on the backfoot.
There are clouds in Lord’s, due to which the bowlers are getting swing. Rabada took advantage of this opportunity and bowled brilliantly. His performance brought him closer to the fourth highest wicket-taker for South Africa in Test cricket.
If Rabada takes two more wickets in this match, he will break Allan Donald’s record of 330 wickets. So far, Rabada has taken 329 wickets in 71 Tests.
For Australia, Smith and Head are now trying to handle the innings, but their path is not easy in front of the sharp bowling of South Africa.
Will South Africa be able to end its trophy drought in this final? Only time will tell.
For now, South Africa has made a great start and the eyes of the fans are fixed on this exciting match.
