Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh shared a heartfelt message for Virat Kohli on his birthday – encouraging him to bounce back from a rough patch in Test cricket. Yuvraj expressed confidence that Kohli would make a strong comeback.
Virat Kohli, one of cricket’s greatest batters, turned 36 on November 5th. Despite being a top player who has led the Indian batting lineup for years Kohli has recently faced criticism for his performances in Tests.
Although Kohli has reached impressive milestones in his career his recent home Test series performance has raised questions about his place in the team.
However given his history of overcoming challenges many believe he is capable of another remarkable comeback.
Fans from around the world have been sending Kohli birthday wishes with a special message from Yuvraj Singh. Yuvraj shared his support on social media, saying that setbacks often lead to the greatest comebacks. He wrote:
“Wishing you a very Happy Birthday #KingKohli! The greatest comebacks emerge from our setbacks, and the world eagerly looks forward to your solid comeback. You’ve done it before, and I’m sure you’ll do it yet again. God bless! Lots of love @imVkohli.”
Kohli and Yuvraj played together on the Indian team for several years. In 2017, Yuvraj appeared in 11 ODIs and three T20Is under Kohli’s captaincy, and they also played together for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL.
While Kohli may be facing a lean phase now, his contributions over a 15-year career are extraordinary.
He has consistently been India’s top batter for over a decade and recently broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record for the most ODI centuries becoming the first player to reach 50 centuries.
In 295 ODIs, Kohli has scored 13,906 runs at an average of 58.18, with 50 centuries and 72 half-centuries. In 118 Tests, he has 9,040 runs with 29 centuries and 31 half-centuries. Kohli also scored 4,188 runs in 125 T20Is at an average of 48.69 and a strike rate of 137.04, including one century and 38 half-centuries.
