At the start of Asia Cup 2025, the Indian team defeated the United Arab Emirates (UAE). India won by 9 wickets in the Group A match played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
The UAE team batted first and were all out for just 57 runs, while India achieved the target in 4.3 overs.
Kuldeep Yadav’s brilliant performance made the match one-sided, he was adjudged the Player of the Match.

The match started with the toss, where Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav won and chose to bowl first. UAE openers Alishan Sharafu and captain Wasim Muhammad made an aggressive start.
Sharafu scored 22 runs, including three fours and a six, but Jasprit Bumrah’s yorker bowled him. The score became 26/1.
Varun Chakraborty gave the second blow by getting Muhammad Zoheb Khan caught by Kuldeep. UAE’s innings faltered. Kuldeep took two wickets in one over, Rahul Chopra was caught by Shubman Gill, Wasim Muhammad was LBW. Harshit Kaushik was bowled on the next ball. The score reached 50/5.
Shivam Dubey got Asif Khan caught by Sanju Samson, then Dhruv Parashar was LBW. Junaid Siddiqui was caught by Kuldeep on Dubey’s ball. Kuldeep got Haider Ali caught by Samson and wrapped up UAE’s innings at 57 in 13.1 overs.
Kuldeep took 4 wickets for 7 runs in 2.1 overs, Dubey took 3, while Bumrah, Chakraborty and Akshar Patel took one wicket each. Only Sharafu and Wasim from UAE could cross double figures.
Asia Cup 205: India Inning
India’s batting looked like a practice match. Abhishek Sharma scored 30 runs (two fours, three sixes) in 16 balls, Shubman Gill added 20 runs in 9 balls.
The score read 48/0. Junaid Siddiqui dismissed Abhishek but Suryakumar Yadav hit a six off two balls to take the total to 60/1 in 4.3 overs.
UAE bowlers, Haider Ali, Mohammad Rohid Khan, Dhruv Parashar and Simranjeet Singh Kang, leaked runs but picked up just one wicket.
India’s win marked the beginning of their dominance in the tournament. Experts believe that with bowlers like Kuldeep and Dube, the team looks unstoppable.
