Something unusual happened in cricket recently that got everyone talking. Pakistani player Azam Khan agreed with Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav’s controversial statement. Yadav said the India-Pakistan rivalry doesn’t exist anymore in cricket.
This agreement could land Azam Khan in serious trouble back home. The Pakistan Cricket Board might not like what he said publicly.
What Suryakumar Yadav Actually Said About Pakistan
Suryakumar Yadav made these comments after the 2025 Asia Cup matches. India beat Pakistan three times in a row during that tournament. The Indian captain looked at the numbers and spoke his mind.
He said a rivalry only exists when both teams win equally. Right now, India dominates Pakistan in almost every ICC tournament game. The win-loss record is completely lopsided in India’s favour these days.

Yadav made these remarks during a press conference after another victory. His words weren’t meant to insult but just stated the facts clearly.
Azam Khan’s Support Could Cost Him Dearly
Azam Khan went on a podcast and backed Yadav’s statement completely. He said the Indian captain was right about everything despite sounding bold. Recent ICC tournament results prove India is way ahead of Pakistan currently.
“If you see the ICC tournaments, I think… I don’t know if I should say this, but technically he is correct,” Azam said.
Khan didn’t stop there and hinted at bigger problems within Pakistan’s team. He talked about information leaks happening inside the dressing room regularly. Some teammates apparently betray others by sharing secrets outside the group.
These comments show a lack of unity in Pakistan’s cricket setup. Saying all this publicly puts Khan’s international career at serious risk now.

Why This Statement Matters So Much
The India-Pakistan cricket rivalry has always been cricket’s biggest draw globally. Millions watch whenever these two teams play against each other anywhere. But Azam Khan agreeing with an Indian captain changes things completely.
Pakistan Cricket Board officials might punish him for supporting Yadav’s claims. He could face a ban or get dropped from the team. Speaking against your own country’s performance never goes well with the authorities.
