BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla virtually participated in the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting held in Dhaka, where it was decided that the tournament will be held in UAE.
When Will the Asia Cup Fever Begin?
According to sources, the BCCI is targeting the last week of September 2025 or early October.
Talking about the venue, Dubai and Abu Dhabi can be finalized. The BCCI has signed a deal with the Emirates Cricket Board for three venues, but only two venues will be used for the tournament.
This tournament will also be important for the preparation of the T20 World Cup to be held in India and Sri Lanka next year.
Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Rajiv Shukla will soon meet and finalize the venue and schedule.
Why is this edition of the Asia Cup 2025 special?
Also, talks will start with the sponsors so that the commercial plan of the tournament can be prepared. But there is a twist, tension between India and Pakistan increased after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, due to which the BCCI is taking permission from the Indian government to play with Pakistan.
This edition of the Asia Cup is also special because this will be the first time that India and Pakistan will clash on the cricket field, that too when tensions between the two countries have increased recently.
The ACC has decided that when India or Pakistan host, the tournament will be held at a neutral venue.
