The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team and their fans have suffered a major setback in IPL 2025 as the team’s young fast bowler Mathisha Pathirana is ruled out of the upcoming matches due to injury.

Pathirana, who is known for his fast and deadly yorkers, had already missed CSK’s opening match against Mumbai Indians.
Now, his injury has become so serious that he has also been ruled out of the high-voltage match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on March 28 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
CSK head coach Stephen Fleming himself has confirmed this news.
He said that Pathirana is still in the recovery process and will not be available for this match. However, Fleming has not given any information about the exact type or severity of his injury, which has increased the concern of the fans even more.
Pathirana has struggled with hamstring problems in the last season too, and now again his absence can prove to be a big headache for CSK. Especially in the death overs, where he has been the team’s most reliable bowler.
CSK fans are now hoping that this Sri Lankan star gets fit soon and returns to the field and strengthens the team with his brilliant bowling.
