In Qualifier 2 of IPL 2026, runs flowed so freely that fans remained glued to their screens.
In this high-stakes clash held in Chandigarh, the Gujarat Titans defeated the Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets to secure their spot in the final.

Batting first, Rajasthan posted a massive total of 214 runs; however, Gujarat chased it down and finished the match in just 18.4 overs.
Rajasthan got off to a disastrous start, with Yashasvi Jaiswal getting dismissed after scoring just 1 run.
Following his departure, young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi took charge and batted in explosive fashion.
He smashed 96 runs off just 47 balls, an innings studded with 8 fours and 7 sixes. Apart from him, Ravindra Jadeja played a stabilizing knock of 45 runs.
While in the final overs, Donovan Ferreira hammered 38 runs off just 11 balls to propel the score to 214.
Vaibhav’s Blistering Knock Fails to Save Rajasthan
Among the Gujarat bowlers, Jason Holder proved to be the most effective, claiming 2 wickets for just 27 runs in his 4 overs.
Kagiso Rabada also picked up 2 crucial wickets. However, Rashid Khan proved to be quite expensive in this match, conceding 45 runs in his 2 overs.
Chasing a daunting target of 215 runs, the Gujarat team adopted an aggressive approach right from the start.
Sai Sudharsan and captain Shubman Gill maintained relentless pressure on the Rajasthan bowlers. Sudharsan scored 58 runs off 32 balls.
While Shubman Gill played a captain’s knock, smashing 104 runs off just 53 balls. His innings featured 15 fours and 3 sixes.
Shubman Gill Ends Rajasthan’s Dream
By the time Gill was dismissed, the match was already firmly under Gujarat’s control.
In the end, Rahul Tewatia scored runs rapidly to guide the team to victory. Gujarat clinched the match by reaching a total of 219 runs in 18.4 overs.
Rajasthan’s bowling attack appeared quite weak in this high-scoring encounter. While Jofra Archer did manage to take Shubman Gill’s wicket, the rest of the bowlers failed to contain the runs.
With this victory, Gujarat Titans have now reached the final of IPL 2026, while Rajasthan Royals’ journey comes to an end here.
The IPL 2026 final match will now be played on May 31st between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
