BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia cleared up surgery rumours later. He confirmed no surgery happened – just a medical procedure.
“Shreyas is much, much better, recovering quicker than the doctors had anticipated. I’ve been in contact with Dr. Rizwan Khan, the Indian team doctor who remained with Shreyas to oversee his treatment in Sydney. Normally, recovery would take around six to eight weeks, but Shreyas might surprise us with an earlier comeback,” Saikia said.
Shreyas Iyer’s First Statement Reassures Everyone
Shreyas Iyer’s first statement brought relief to millions of fans. He thanked everyone for their prayers and support warmly. The batsman said he’s getting better every single day. His positive attitude impressed doctors treating him at the hospital.
“I’m currently in recovery process and getting better, every passing day. I’m deeply grateful to see all the kind wishes and support I’ve received – it truly means a lot. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts 🙏🏻,” Iyer wrote.
