The craze of cricket is increasing in Europe, in which a new and exciting T20 league is going to start in July 2025, named European T20 Premier League (ETPL)
According to sources, the first season of ETPL will run from 15 July to 8 August 2025. The matches will be played in Dublin, Ireland and Rotterdam, Netherlands. A total of six teams will participate in this league, between which 33 matches will be seen.
The most special thing is that ETPL is a unique league. Till now most cricket leagues were run by the cricket board of the same country, but ETPL is starting with the joint efforts of the cricket boards of three countries – Ireland, Scotland and Netherlands. This is a big step for the development of cricket in Europe.
How will the teams be formed in ETPL?
Each country will have two teams. Teams from Dublin and Belfast from Ireland, Edinburgh and Glasgow from Scotland, and Amsterdam and Rotterdam from the Netherlands will take the field.
Each team will consist of eight local players and a development player from a European country.
The league will also have a Bollywood flavour. Famous actor Abhishek Bachchan is one of the key promoters and co-owners of ETPL.

The main objective of ETPL is to promote cricket in Europe and give local young cricketers a chance to move forward. This league will try to attract viewers not only from Europe but also from cricket loving countries like India, Australia and England.
