Shubman Gill’s bat is spitting fire in India’s Test series against England. New captain Gill first scored a century in Leeds and then surprised everyone by playing a historic innings of 269 runs in Edgbaston.

But now a new war has broken out in this series, and its center is former captain Sourav Ganguly, who made such a statement in praise of Gill that Virat Kohli’s fans got furious!

Ganguly’s Gill Praise Triggers Kohli Fan Outrage

“Gill’s batting: Even ahead of Kohli?”

Sourav Ganguly, in a conversation with RevSportz, described Gill’s innings of 269 runs as the best innings ever on England soil.

He said, “I have not seen such batting in England in 30 years. Gill is playing absolutely flawless. English bowlers are helpless in front of him.”

Ganguly praised Gill’s hunger and patience and said, “It is incomprehensible how his Test average is less than 50.”

This statement surpassed Virat Kohli’s brilliant series in 2018, when he scored 593 runs.

Ganguly’s statement that Gill’s innings was even better than Kohli’s has given rise to a new debate.

Fans are now divided on social media – some are calling Gill the ‘new Kohli’, while others are not accepting that Kohli’s record can be equalled.

Praise for Akash Deep: ‘Shami-like magic’

Apart from Gill, Ganguly also praised fast bowler Akash Deep. Akash created history by taking 10 wickets at Edgbaston.

Ganguly said, “Aakash reminded me of Mohammed Shami. His ball to Joe Root could have dismissed any batsman in the world.”

Aakash’s swing and pace troubled the English batsmen, and Ganguly’s statement is a big praise for him.

    Will Gill break Dravid’s record?

Gill has scored 585 runs in two matches, and he is just behind Rahul Dravid’s record of 602 runs in 2002.

There are still three Tests left in the series, and if Gill plays like this, then Dravid’s record could be in danger.
