England’s experienced opening batswoman Tammy Beaumont has been awarded the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for September 2024 – successfully surpassing competition from Ireland’s teenage talent Aimee Maguire and UAE all-rounder Esha Oza.
Beaumont showcased her incredible skills throughout September dominating for England during their tour of Ireland in both one-day and T20 formats.
This achievement marks Beaumont’s second monthly award, as the 33-year-old right-handed batter also claimed this title back in February 2021.
βThank you to everyone who voted for me as ICC Women’s Player of the Month for September,” Beaumont said. “It was a great tour in Ireland with an inexperienced England team, and it was really nice to contribute personally. I saw firsthand how well Aimee Maguire bowled for Ireland and she fully deserved the nomination. Congratulations to Esha Oza too.β
Beaumont proved she is still a major force in international cricket with a series of excellent performances during England’s white-ball tour of Ireland. She scored a total of 212 runs at an impressive average of 106, helping England achieve a 2-1 series triumph.
She further backed up her performance with another 67 runs from two innings in the two-match T20I series that followed.
The standout moment of the month occurred in the second ODI match, where Beaumont delivered a remarkable performance, smashing 150 runs from just 139 balls in a Player of the Match display that led England to a victorious outcome.
