Ahead of IPL 2025, BCCI recently took such a decision, which not only made the bowlers happy but will also provide a big relief.

Ban on saliva lifted, bowlers return!

During the Corona epidemic in 2020, BCCI had banned the use of saliva on the ball. Now this rule has been removed, which will give the bowlers a chance to show their magic.

Legendary bowlers like Mohammed Shami, Tim Southee and Vernon Philander had raised their voice for permission to use saliva. These players believed that without saliva it becomes difficult to show the magic of reverse swing.

Now BCCI has tried to strike a balance between batting and bowling by taking a decision in favor of the bowlers.

Two new balls will be available in the second innings

Another big change has been made in the IPL match. Now a new ball will be used in the second innings from the 11th over. The purpose of this change is to reduce the effect of dew.

Dew used to cause problems for the teams bowling in the second innings, and that is why most captains used to choose to field first after winning the toss. The new ball will give equal opportunity to both the teams and the importance of the toss will be reduced.

However, no change has been made in the rule of impact player, although many players have raised their voice against it. Veterans like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Marcus Stoinis believe that this rule is not good for cricket.

Due to this rule, teams are giving more importance to specialist batsmen and bowlers, due to which the role of all-rounders has reduced.
