    Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 6 wickets in the 70th match of IPL 2025 played at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow to secure their place in Qualifier 1.

    With this win, RCB secured a place in the top-2 by securing 19 points in the points table and will now take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Qualifier 1.

    In this Match Lucknow Super Giants batted first and scored 227/3 in 20 overs, in response to which Royal Challengers Bangalore won by scoring 230/4 in 18.4 overs.

    Brilliant performances from Jitesh Sharma (85*), Virat Kohli (54), and Nuwan Thushara (1/26) played a key role in Bangalore’s victory.

    1st innings: Lucknow Super Giants 227/3 (20 overs)

    Lucknow got off to a steady start, but Matthew Breetzke (14 runs, 12 balls) was dismissed early. Mitchell Marsh (67 runs, 37 balls) and captain Rishabh Pant (118* runs, 61 balls) shared a brilliant 152-run partnership for the second wicket.

    Pant completed his century in 54 balls, and added 49 runs for the third wicket with Nicholas Pooran (13 runs, 10 balls). Pant remained unbeaten along with Abdul Samad (1* runs, 1 ball) to take the score to 227.

    For Bangalore, Nuwan Tushara (1/26), Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/46), and Romario Shepherd (1/51) took one wicket each.

    Chasing the target of 228 runs, Bangalore got off to a fast start. Phil Salt (30 runs, 19 balls) and Virat Kohli (54 runs, 30 balls) added 61 runs for the first wicket. Rajat Patidar (14 runs, 7 balls) and Liam Livingstone (0 runs, 1 ball) were out early.

    Jitesh Sharma (85* runs, 33 balls) and Mayank Agarwal (41* runs, 23 balls) shared an unbeaten 107-run partnership for the fifth wicket to give India victory in 18.4 overs.

    For Lucknow, William O’Rourke (2/74) took two wickets, while Akash Singh (1/40) and Avesh Khan (1/32) took one wicket each.
