    IPL 2025: KKR beat CSK by 8 wickets with a brilliant start from Sunil Narine and Quinton de Kock

    In the 25th match of IPL 2025 played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 8 wickets.

    Batting first, Chennai scored a very low score of 103/9, which Kolkata achieved by losing 2 wickets in just 10.1 overs.

    First innings: Chennai Super Kings score 103/9 (20 overs)

    Chennai Super Kings had a very bad start. Rachin Ravindra (4) and Devon Conway (12) were out early.

    Rahul Tripathi (16) and Vijay Shankar (29) tried to handle the innings for some time, but wickets kept falling at regular intervals.

    Shivam Dubey (31) scored the most runs, but he too could not stay till the end.
    Sunil Narine (3/13) and Harshit Rana (2/16) performed brilliantly in Kolkata’s bowling, while Varun Chakravarthy (2/22) and Moeen Ali (1/20) also made important contributions.

    • Vijay Shankar – 29 runs (21 balls, 2 fours, 1 six)
    • Rahul Tripathi – 16 runs (22 balls, 1 four, 0 six)
    • Devon Conway – 12 runs (11 balls, 2 fours, 0 sixes)

    KKR best bowlers:

    • Sunil Narine – 4 overs, 13 runs, 3 wickets
    • Harshit Rana – 4 overs, 16 runs, 2 wickets
    • Varun Chakravarthy – 4 overs, 22 runs, 2 wickets
    • Moeen Ali – 4 overs, 20 runs, 1 wicket
    • Vaibhav Arora – 4 overs, 31 runs, 1 wicket

    Second innings: Kolkata Knight Riders achieved the target in 10.1 overs (107/2)

    Chasing the small target of 104 runs, Kolkata had a stormy start. Sunil Narine (44) accelerated the innings by hitting 2 fours and 5 sixes in 18 balls. Quinton de Kock (23) supported him well.

    After the dismissal of both, Ajinkya Rahane (19) and Rinku Singh (2) achieved the target without any trouble in 10.1 overs.

    For Chennai, Anshul Kamboj (1/19) and Noor Ahmed (1/2) took one wicket each, but the bowlers could not create pressure.

    • Quinton de Kock – 23 runs (16 balls, 0 fours, 3 sixes)

    • Noor Ahmed – 1 over, 2 runs, 1 wicket
    • Khalil Ahmed – 3 overs, 40 runs, 0 wickets
    • Ravichandran Ashwin – 3 overs, 30 runs, 0 wickets

    Defining moment of the match:

    The decisive moment of the match came in the 15th over of the first innings when Sunil Narine dismissed MS Dhoni (1) LBW, after which Chennai’s innings completely fell apart. Earlier, Narine had also dismissed Rahul Tripathi (16) and Ravindra Jadeja (0) to reduce Chennai to 75/8.

    In the second innings, Kolkata adopted an aggressive approach from the beginning and Sunil Narine’s stormy batting did not give Chennai any chance. Kolkata won a spectacular victory by 8 wickets in 10.1 overs.
