Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant has made a big statement on today’s young cricketers. He said that nowadays players are more caught up in the glamour of IPL than playing for India.

Actually, Pant said in an interview on Jio Hotstar,
“Since childhood, I had only one dream – to play for India. I never even thought of playing in the IPL. I think today people are focusing more on IPL. Yes, it is a great platform, but if your goal is to play for your country, then all things like IPL will automatically fall into place.”
Apart from this, Rishabh Pant, while talking about the early days of his career, said that his dream was always to be a part of the Indian team.
Pant said, “If you think big, then success will follow you. I always felt that I would play for India one day and God helped me a lot. At the age of just 18, I got a chance to debut and I am very grateful for that.”
The Lucknow Super Giants captain is famous for his attacking batting and hitting sixes with one hand. Often the bat slips from his hand. Revealing about this, Pant said,
“I hold my lower hand very lightly. I mainly use my lower hand only for support because sometimes it starts dominating. Therefore, I focus more on holding my upper hand firmly.”
Recently Pant was part of India’s 2025 ICC Champions Trophy winning team. However, the star wicketkeeper did not get a chance to play a single match as KL Rahul was given more importance than him.
