In Match 48 of IPL 2026, played at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) registered a resounding victory by defeating Delhi Capitals (DC) by 8 wickets.

Batting first, DC posted a total of 155 runs, a target that CSK chased down with ease in just 17.3 overs.

Delhi got off to a decent start, but the team failed to put up a substantial total.

On the bowling front for CSK, Noor Ahmad claimed 2 wickets, while Akeal Hosein, Mukesh Choudhary, and Gurjapneet Singh took one wicket each.
Samson’s Storm: An Easy Win for CSK
Chasing a target of 156 runs, CSK got off to a somewhat slow start. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad was dismissed after scoring just 6 runs. However, Sanju Samson then completely took control of the match.
Samson played a magnificent unbeaten innings of 87 runs off 52 balls, featuring 7 fours and 6 sixes.
He received excellent support from Kartik Sharma, who contributed 41 runs. The strong partnership between the two effectively dashed Delhi’s hopes.
Urvil Patel played a brief but brisk cameo of 17 runs, ensuring the required run rate was maintained. Ultimately, CSK reached 159/2 in 17.3 overs to seal the victory.
Delhi’s bowlers failed to make an impact in this match. Axar Patel and Ngidi claimed one wicket each, but the remaining bowlers proved to be expensive.
Impact on the Points Table
With this victory, CSK has consolidated its position on the points table, while Delhi Capitals have suffered yet another defeat. CSK’s Net Run Rate has also improved significantly thanks to this emphatic win.
