In the IPL 2026 Eliminator match, the Rajasthan Royals defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 47 runs in spectacular fashion, securing their spot in Qualifier 2.

Played at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Stadium in Chandigarh, the match saw Rajasthan bat first and post a massive total of 243 runs. In response, the Hyderabad team was bowled out for 196 runs.
The standout hero of the match was young batsman Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who completely turned the tide of the game with a blistering innings of 97 runs off just 29 balls.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Unleashes a T20 Storm
Rajasthan got off to a decent start, but it was Vaibhav Sooryavanshi who launched the real assault. He played shots all around the ground, smashing 12 sixes in a mere 29 deliveries.
His strike rate stood at over 334. Dhruv Jurel also contributed a quickfire 50 runs off 21 balls, while Captain Riyan Parag added 26 runs off 12 balls to propel the team’s total to 243.
Hyderabad’s bowling attack appeared completely under pressure. Although Praful Hinge managed to take 3 wickets, he conceded a significant number of runs.
Captain Pat Cummins went for 64 runs in his 4 overs, a moment that proved to be a major turning point in the match.
Archer and Jadeja Dash SRH’s Hopes
Chasing a daunting target of 243 runs, Hyderabad got off to a disastrous start. Jofra Archer dismissed Abhishek Sharma in the very first over.
He then quickly sent Travis Head and Ishan Kishan back to the pavilion as well.
In the middle order, Nitish Kumar Reddy (38 runs) and Salil Arora (35 runs) attempted to stage a comeback; however, Ravindra Jadeja took wickets at regular intervals, extinguishing all remaining hopes.
Archer claimed 3 wickets, while Jadeja and Nandre Burger secured 2 wickets each. With this victory, the Rajasthan Royals have now advanced to Qualifier 2, while Sunrisers Hyderabad’s IPL 2026 journey ends here.
