In the 66th match of IPL 2026, the Gujarat Titans delivered a spectacular performance to defeat the Chennai Super Kings by 89 runs.

Played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the match saw Gujarat bat first and post a massive total of 229 runs; in response, the entire Chennai team crumbled for just 140 runs.

Gujarat got off to a magnificent start. Sai Sudharsan played a brilliant innings of 84 runs, featuring 7 fours and 4 sixes.
Alongside him, Captain Shubman Gill also provided the team with a strong foundation by scoring 64 runs. Following this, Jos Buttler smashed 57 runs off just 27 balls, mercilessly punishing the Chennai bowlers.
Chennai’s bowling attack appeared quite lackluster. Anshul Kamboj proved to be the most expensive bowler, conceding 56 runs in his 4 overs.
Meanwhile, Spencer Johnson also leaked 47 runs. Gujarat accelerated their scoring in the final overs to push their total up to 229.
Siraj and Rashid Khan Dash CSK’s Hopes
Chasing a daunting target of 230 runs, Chennai endured a disastrous start. Mohammed Siraj dealt a major blow right on the very first ball by dismissing Sanju Samson.
Subsequently, he quickly sent both Ruturaj Gaikwad and Urvil Patel back to the pavilion.
For Chennai, only Shivam Dube put up a brief fight, scoring 47 runs off 17 balls; however, wickets continued to tumble consistently at the other end.
Rashid Khan completely swung the match in Gujarat’s favor by claiming three wickets during the middle overs.
Meanwhile, Kagiso Rabada delivered the final blows, bagging 3 wickets to his name.
With this emphatic victory, the Gujarat Titans have further solidified their position in the race for the playoffs, while the Chennai Super Kings have suffered a significant setback to their Net Run Rate following this defeat.
