Gujarat Titans registered a resounding victory in their IPL 2026 encounter against Sunrisers Hyderabad, defeating them by 82 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Batting first, GT posted a total of 168 runs in 20 overs; in response, the entire SRH team crumbled for a mere 86 runs.
Right from the start of the match, Gujarat’s bowlers applied immense pressure on Hyderabad, turning the contest into a completely one-sided affair.
Washington Sundar and Sai Sudharsan Steer the Innings
Gujarat did not get off to a good start. Captain Shubman Gill was dismissed after scoring just 5 runs, while Jos Buttler also failed to play a substantial innings. Subsequently, Sai Sudharsan stepped up to stabilize the team with a magnificent knock of 61 runs.
Joining him, Washington Sundar smashed a quickfire 50 runs. The partnership between these two batsmen propelled Gujarat to a formidable total.
For SRH, Prafull Hinge and Sakib Hussain claimed two wickets each, but the remaining bowlers proved to be quite expensive. In particular, Ishan Malinga conceded 46 runs in his 4 overs.
Rabada and Holder’s Fiery Bowling Spell
Chasing a target of 168 runs, Sunrisers Hyderabad got off to an abysmal start. Travis Head was dismissed without even opening his account.
Following his dismissal, Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan also made quick returns to the pavilion.
The entire team continued to lose wickets at regular intervals, and no batsman was able to forge a significant partnership.
For Gujarat, Kagiso Rabada and Jason Holder dismantled the SRH batting lineup, claiming three wickets each.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj delivered the initial breakthrough, and Prasidh Krishna also chipped in with two wickets.
The Hyderabad team failed to even complete their full quota of 15 overs, eventually being bowled out in 14.5 overs.
With this massive victory, Gujarat Titans have further consolidated their position on the points table. Conversely, SRH’s fragile batting performance is becoming a growing cause for concern for the team.
