In the 60th match of IPL 2026, the Kolkata Knight Riders defeated the Gujarat Titans by 29 runs, powered by a blistering batting performance.

Played at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens, this high-scoring encounter saw KKR bat first and post a massive total of 247 runs, in response to which the GT team could only manage 218 runs.
The match witnessed a shower of fours and sixes, providing fans with complete entertainment.
KKR got off to a brisk start, although captain Ajinkya Rahane could not stay at the crease for very long.
Subsequently, Finn Allen unleashed a whirlwind of aggressive batting on the field. He smashed 93 runs off just 35 balls, an innings that included 10 towering sixes.
At the other end, Angkrish Raghuvanshi also played a magnificent unbeaten innings of 82 runs.
Cameron Green Joins the Party
Australian all-rounder Cameron Green provided a blistering finish at the end, scoring 52 runs off 28 balls.
KKR consistently hit big shots in the final overs, leaving the Gujarat bowlers looking completely under pressure.
Mohammed Siraj and Sai Kishore claimed one wicket each, but the remaining bowlers proved to be quite expensive.
Chasing a massive target of 248 runs, GT also got off to a strong start. Captain Shubman Gill scored a brilliant 85 runs, while Jos Buttler played a quickfire innings of 57 runs.
Sai Sudharsan also stood firm until the very end, remaining unbeaten on 53 runs, but the required run rate continued to climb steadily.
Sunil Narine Turns the Tide
The GT team remained in contention throughout the match, but during the middle overs, Sunil Narine claimed two crucial wickets that swung the momentum of the contest firmly in KKR’s favor.
By dismissing Shubman Gill and Nishant Sindhu, he disrupted Gujarat’s scoring momentum. Meanwhile, KKR’s bowlers staged a strong comeback in the final overs.
With this victory, KKR has further consolidated its position on the points table.
On the other hand, while the Gujarat team certainly batted well, the poor performance of their bowlers proved costly for the team.
