In the 65th match of IPL 2026, Kolkata Knight Riders displayed a brilliant performance to defeat Mumbai Indians by 4 wickets.

Played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, KKR successfully chased down a target of 148 runs in 18.5 overs. Manish Pandey and Rovman Powell played pivotal roles in the team’s victory.
Mumbai’s Batting Falters Once Again
After losing the toss and being put in to bat first, Mumbai Indians got off to a disastrous start. Ryan Rickelton, Rohit Sharma, and Naman Dhir were dismissed early.
Suryakumar Yadav scored a quickfire 15 runs, but his innings, too, was short-lived.
Subsequently, Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya attempted to stabilize the innings, but the scoring rate remained quite sluggish.
Hardik scored 26 runs, while Tilak Varma could only manage 20 runs. In the end, Corbin Bosch played a brisk cameo, scoring 32 runs off 18 balls to propel Mumbai to a total of 147/8.
For KKR, Cameron Green, Saurabh Dubey, and Kartik Tyagi claimed two wickets each.
Meanwhile, Sunil Narine delivered a highly economical spell, taking one wicket while conceding just 13 runs in his four overs.
Manish Pandey and Powell Turn the Tide
Chasing a target of 148 runs, KKR did not get off to a particularly good start either. Finn Allen was dismissed after scoring just 8 runs.
Captain Ajinkya Rahane contributed 21 runs, following which Manish Pandey batted magnificently, smashing 45 runs off 33 balls.
Rovman Powell also batted aggressively, scoring 40 runs off 30 balls.
The partnership between these two batsmen completely swung the match in KKR’s favor. In the final overs, Rinku Singh scored runs rapidly to guide the team to victory.
For Mumbai, Corbin Bosch was the top wicket-taker with 3 wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah and Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar claimed one wicket each.
With this win, KKR has further strengthened its position on the points table.
