In Match 34 of IPL 2026, Royal Challengers Bengaluru registered a magnificent victory, defeating the Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets.

Played at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, this high-scoring encounter saw RCB successfully chase down a massive target of 206 runs in just 18.5 overs.
The hero of this victory was Virat Kohli, who was named the Player of the Match for his brilliant innings.
Sudharsan’s Explosive Knock for GT, But the Team Falls Short
Batting first, the Gujarat Titans posted a formidable total of 205/3 in their allotted 20 overs. During this innings, Sai Sudharsan delivered a sensational batting performance, smashing 100 runs off just 58 balls.
His innings featured 11 fours and 5 sixes. Captain Shubman Gill scored 32 runs, while Jos Buttler contributed 25 runs.
Towards the end, Jason Holder and Washington Sundar added quick runs to propel the team’s total past the 200-run mark.
In the RCB bowling department, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, and Suyash Sharma each claimed one wicket.
Kohli and Padikkal Turn the Tide
Chasing the target of 206 runs, RCB got off to a decent start, but the real spectacle unfolded through the batting of Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal.
Kohli scored 81 runs off 44 balls, an innings studded with 8 fours and 4 sixes. His strike rate stood at over 184.
Padikkal also played a blistering knock, smashing 55 runs off just 27 balls. Together, the duo completely swung the match in RCB’s favor.
Although a few wickets fell in quick succession during the middle overs, Krunal Pandya (23) and Tim David (10) ultimately guided the team across the finish line to victory.
For Gujarat, Rashid Khan claimed 2 wickets, but his efforts proved insufficient to secure a win for his team. Mohammed Siraj and Manav Suthar also picked up one wicket each.
The match saw a rain of runs, fours, sixes and big shots, with RCB eventually winning the match with a brilliant chase under pressure.
