In The 59th IPL 2026 Match, The Lucknow Super Giants delivered a stellar performance on their home ground, defeating the Chennai Super Kings by 7 wickets.

Played at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium, the match saw CSK bat first and post a total of 187 runs in 20 overs; however, LSG chased down the target in just 16.4 overs.

CSK Batters Started Slow, Kartik Sharma Changed the Game
Chennai got off to a poor start. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sanju Samson were dismissed early, and the team had lost three wickets with just 52 runs on the board.
Subsequently, young batter Kartik Sharma steadied the innings, playing a magnificent knock of 71 runs off 42 balls. His innings featured 6 fours and 5 sixes.
In the death overs, Shivam Dube also batted aggressively, scoring an unbeaten 32 runs off 16 balls. It was largely due to these efforts that CSK’s total reached 187.
For Lucknow, Akash Singh emerged as the most successful bowler, claiming 3 crucial wickets while conceding just 26 runs in his 4 overs.
Mitchell Marsh’s Fireworks Finished the Match Early
Chasing a target of 188 runs, the Lucknow team went on the offensive right from the start. Mitchell Marsh launched a relentless assault on the CSK bowlers.
He scored 90 runs off just 38 balls, an innings studded with 9 fours and 7 towering sixes.
In the face of his batting onslaught, the Chennai bowlers appeared completely ineffective.
Josh Inglis played a valuable supporting knock of 36 runs, while Nicholas Pooran finished the match in style, scoring an unbeaten 32 runs off 17 balls.
For CSK, only Mukesh Choudhary and Spencer Johnson managed to claim a wicket each.
With this victory, the Lucknow Super Giants have further consolidated their position on the points table.
Meanwhile, the Chennai Super Kings’ bowling attack once again appeared to crumble under pressure; the team suffered significant damage, particularly during the Powerplay and the middle overs.
