In the 50th match of IPL 2026, the Lucknow Super Giants delivered a spectacular performance to defeat the Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 9 runs.

Played at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium, this high-scoring encounter saw both teams rain down fours and sixes, but ultimately, LSG claimed victory.
The biggest hero of the team’s win was Mitchell Marsh, who played a blistering innings of 111 runs off just 56 balls.
Marsh and Pooran Stun RCB
Batting first, LSG posted a total of 209 runs in 19 overs. The start was somewhat cautious, but Mitchell Marsh soon launched a fierce assault on the RCB bowlers.
His innings featured 9 fours and 9 towering sixes. On the other end, Nicholas Pooran also played a brisk knock of 38 runs, ensuring the scoring rate remained high.
In the final overs, Captain Rishabh Pant smashed 32 runs off just 10 balls, completely shifting the momentum of the match in LSG’s favor.
For RCB, Josh Hazlewood, Krunal Pandya, and Rasikh Dar Salam each claimed one wicket, but none of the bowlers could effectively contain the flow of runs.
RCB got off to a disastrous start. Virat Kohli was dismissed without opening his account, while Jacob Bethell also made an early return to the pavilion.
Subsequently, Captain Rajat Patidar played a magnificent innings of 61 runs in an attempt to bring his team back into the contest.
Prince Yadav Turns the Tide
At one stage, RCB appeared to be in a strong position, but LSG’s young bowler, Prince Yadav, turned the match around by taking wickets at regular intervals.
He claimed 3 crucial wickets in his 4 overs, including those of Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal, and Jitesh Sharma.
In the closing overs, Tim David and Krunal Pandya scored runs rapidly, but the team could only reach a total of 203 runs in 19 overs.
For LSG, Shahbaz Ahmed also made a significant contribution by taking 2 wickets. With this victory, Lucknow has further consolidated its position on the points table.
