Match 24 of IPL 2026 witnessed yet another high-scoring encounter, as the Punjab Kings registered a magnificent victory by defeating the Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets.

The match was played at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, where runs flowed freely.
Batting first, the Mumbai Indians posted a total of 195/6 in their allotted 20 overs; however, the Punjab team chased down this target in just 16.3 overs.
Quinton de Kock’s Explosive Century; MI Posts a Massive Total
For the Mumbai Indians, Quinton de Kock delivered a stellar batting performance, scoring 112 runs off 60 balls and remaining unbeaten until the very end.
His innings featured 8 fours and 7 sixes. Apart from him, Naman Dhir played a brisk knock of 50 runs, enabling the team to reach a formidable total.
However, the remaining batsmen could not make significant contributions. Early in the innings, Ryan Rickelton and Suryakumar Yadav were dismissed quickly. Captain Hardik Pandya scored 14 runs.
Punjab Kings bowler Arshdeep Singh delivered an excellent spell, taking 3 wickets for just 22 runs in 4 overs, which helped put a slight check on MI’s scoring rate.
Powerful Batting by Prabhsimran and Iyer; An Easy Win for PBKS
Setting out to chase the target, the Punjab Kings got off to a flying start. Prabhsimran Singh batted magnificently, scoring 80 runs off 39 balls and remaining unbeaten. He maintained an aggressive approach throughout the match.
Captain Shreyas Iyer provided him with excellent support, scoring 66 runs off 35 balls. Together, the two batsmen completely tilted the match in PBKS’s favor. In the end, Marcus Stoinis scored 10 runs to seal the victory for the team.
The Punjab Kings claimed the match by reaching 198/3 in 16.3 overs. Their run rate hovered around 12 throughout the match, clearly demonstrating the blistering pace at which they batted.
The Mumbai Indians’ bowlers failed to make any significant impact in this match. Even experienced bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah and Deepak Chahar proved expensive and failed to take any wickets.
With this victory, Punjab Kings have further strengthened their position in the tournament, while Mumbai Indians have suffered a setback due to this defeat.
