In The 39 Match of IPL 2026 at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium turned out to be a completely one-sided affair, with RCB handing DC a crushing 9-wicket defeat.

Batting first, the DC team was bundled out for a mere 75 runs, a paltry target that RCB chased down in just 6.3 overs.
DC Batting Collapse: Hazlewood’s Rampage
DC endured a disastrous start, losing five wickets within the Powerplay itself. Big names such as KL Rahul, Axar Patel, and Tristan Stubbs failed to make any significant impact.
From the team’s perspective, only Abhishek Porel (30 runs) and David Miller (19 runs) showed some semblance of resistance.
RCB’s bowling attack was utterly dominant; in particular, Josh Hazlewood delivered a lethal spell, claiming 4 wickets for just 12 runs in 3.3 overs.
Supporting him, Bhuvneshwar Kumar also dealt a crippling blow to DC by taking 3 wickets. The entire team was restricted to 75 runs in 16.3 overs—one of the lowest totals of the season.
RCB had won the toss and elected to bowl first—a decision that proved to be absolutely spot on.
The Kohli-Padikkal Show: An Easy Victory
Chasing a modest target of 76 runs, RCB got off to a brisk start. Although Jacob Bethell was dismissed early, Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal subsequently took complete control of the match.
Virat Kohli remained unbeaten with 23 runs off 15 balls, while Padikkal smashed 34 runs off just 13 deliveries.
His blistering innings included 3 fours and 3 sixes. RCB wrapped up the match in just 6.3 overs, reaching a total of 77 runs.
Josh Hazlewood was named the ‘Player of the Match’ for his magnificent bowling performance, which gave DC no opportunity whatsoever to recover.
This victory has further solidified RCB’s position on the points table, whereas DC will need to seriously introspect on their performance following this crushing defeat.
