In the 63rd match of IPL 2026, Chennai Super Kings suffered a major setback on their home turf in Chennai.
Sunrisers Hyderabad, displaying brilliant batting prowess, won the match by 5 wickets.

Batting first, CSK posted a total of 180 runs in 20 overs; however, SRH chased down the target in just 19 overs.
The hero of this victory was Ishan Kishan, who played a magnificent innings of 70 runs under pressure.
Cummins and Sakib Restrict CSK
CSK got off to a flying start. Sanju Samson scored 27 runs off just 13 balls, while Dewald Brevis played a powerful innings of 44 runs.
In the middle overs, Kartik Sharma also contributed a quickfire 32 runs. However, Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad failed to play a big innings and was dismissed after scoring 15 runs.
For SRH, Captain Pat Cummins delivered a brilliant bowling performance. He claimed 3 crucial wickets while conceding just 28 runs in his 4 overs.
Meanwhile, Sakib Hussain also picked up 2 wickets, preventing CSK from crossing the 200-run mark.
Ishan-Klaasen Duo Turns the Tide
Chasing a target of 181 runs, SRH suffered an early blow when Travis Head was dismissed after scoring just 6 runs.
However, Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen subsequently turned the match completely in SRH’s favor.
Both batsmen scored runs at a brisk pace and maintained constant pressure on the CSK bowlers.
Ishan Kishan smashed 70 runs off 47 balls, an innings studded with 7 fours and 3 sixes. Meanwhile, Klaasen played an explosive innings of 47 runs off just 26 balls.
In the final overs, Salil Arora and Smaran R scored quick runs to guide the team to victory.
For CSK, Mukesh Choudhary did manage to take 2 wickets, but the rest of the bowlers proved to be quite expensive.
Following this defeat at Chepauk Stadium, CSK’s playoff hopes have suffered a major blow, while SRH has strengthened its position in the points table with this victory.
