In The Match 36 of IPL 2026, played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, witnessed a thrilling high-scoring encounter in which Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 5 wickets.

Batting first, RR posted a massive total of 228/6 in their allotted 20 overs, but SRH successfully chased it down in just 18.3 overs.

Although RR’s innings got off to a slightly shaky start with the early loss of wickets, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi completely turned the tide of the match.
He smashed 103 runs off just 37 balls, an innings studded with 12 sixes. His strike rate exceeded 278, making it one of the fastest centuries of the season.
Apart from him, Dhruv Jurel played a crucial knock of 51 runs, while Donovan Ferreira contributed 33 runs to propel the team’s total to 228.
For SRH, Ishan Malinga claimed 2 wickets, while Pat Cummins and Nitish Reddy picked up one wicket each.
Ishan Kishan’s Storm: An Easy Victory for SRH
Chasing a target of 229 runs, SRH suffered an early setback with the quick dismissal of Travis Head; however, Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma subsequently turned the match completely in their favor.
Abhishek Sharma scored 57 runs off 29 balls, but it was Ishan Kishan who truly stole the show.
Ishan Kishan blasted 74 runs off just 31 balls, an innings featuring 11 fours and 3 sixes. His strike rate stood at over 238.
Even after his dismissal, the team’s momentum remained unbroken, as Nitish Kumar Reddy played a brisk cameo of 36 runs off 18 balls.
Ultimately, Salil Arora sealed the victory for the team by scoring 8 runs off just 3 balls. SRH clinched the match by scoring 229/5 in 18.3 overs.
In the bowling department, Jofra Archer and Brijesh Sharma claimed two wickets each for RR, but the remaining bowlers proved to be quite expensive.
With this victory, SRH further consolidated their position on the points table, while RR suffered a defeat in a high-scoring encounter.
