Ishan Kishan’s name is missing from the leaked BCCI contracts list shockingly. The 2025-26 central contracts document started circulating online recently without an official announcement. Fans couldn’t believe the wicketkeeper-batter got excluded after his incredible comeback performances.
The BCCI contract rejection makes sense once you understand the eligibility rules. Contracts get awarded based purely on the previous season’s international performances only. Ishan Kishan played zero matches for India during that qualification period.

BCCI terminated his 2023-24 central contract immediately after that defiance. Two years away from Team India followed that harsh punishment. Missing the 2024 T20 World Cup hurt him personally.

Ishan Kishan returned to domestic cricket with absolute vengeance recently. He topped the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy run charts with 517 runs. His strike rate stayed near 200 throughout that tournament impressively.
Jharkhand won their first-ever title thanks largely to his performances. Red-ball cricket also saw him smashing centuries everywhere suddenly. Buchi Babu Tournament, Duleep Trophy, and Ranji Trophy all witnessed his batting brilliance.
IPL 2025 brought a 45-ball century for Sunrisers Hyderabad. That knock reminded everyone of his destructive capabilities at the highest level. The T20 World Cup 2026 squad finally included him as a key opener.
Future Looks Bright Despite BCCI Contract Rejection
