A big news has come out in Indian cricket. Wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan will not get a chance to return to the BCCI’s central contract.
Rather, Ishan, who was dropped along with Shreyas Iyer last year, will have to wait longer.

Team India’s veterans will retain their A+ grade
According to the report, two big stars of Indian cricket, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, will retain their A+ grade contract.
The price of this contract is Rs 7 crore. Despite retiring from the T20 format, both the players will remain in this grade.
The good news is that Shreyas Iyer will return to the central contract. Iyer, who scored the most runs for India in the Champions Trophy, is almost certain to return.
Three new players who have performed brilliantly for India in recent months may also get their first central contract:
- Varun Chakravarthy
- Nitish Kumar Reddy
- Abhishek Sharma
Preparations are also underway for the upcoming England tour. The five-match Test series against England will begin at Headingley from June 20.
This will be India’s first Test series after losing to Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. It is worth noting that India last won a Test series in England in 2007.
Fans are hopeful that Team India will perform well in England this time and end the drought of winning a Test series on foreign soil.
Axar Patel may get great news
All-rounder Axar Patel, who played an important role in India’s victory in the T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy, is expected to get a promotion.
Axar impressed everyone with his all-round performance in both the tournaments.
The BCCI had announced the annual retainer of the women’s team last week. A meeting was to be held between BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia and Senior Men’s Selection Committee Chairman Ajit Agarkar to announce the contracts of the male players, which was postponed.
