Mohammed Siraj removed from the T20I squads for both the Ireland and England tours. BCCI announced on June 9, 2026. The medical team advised rest for the pacer. Senior fast bowler needs recovery time before the packed schedule ahead. Precautionary step taken now.

Mohammed Siraj was selected in the initial 16-member T20I squad. But removed after consultation between the medical team and management discussing workload carefully. The international season is long and demanding on players.
Rest is important, basically, to prevent injuries. BCCI took this decision to protect players’ health first. Siraj needs recovery time before bigger matches ahead.
Prasidh Krishna Recalled as Replacement
Prasidh Krishna got called to replace Mohammed Siraj basically. Gujarat Titans pacer selected for both tour squads. Krishna returns to the squad after a long time away. Last T20I appearance was in November 2023. That’s quite a gap but he was impressive. Playing for the GT franchise in IPL 2026.
Krishna played 12 matches for Gujarat in IPL 2026. Taking important wickets there shows he still has skills for T20 cricket. Against Afghanistan in the Test, he took 3 wickets in 14 overs.
Supporting India’s bowling attack he performed well in that. An extended opportunity was given. Now he gets another chance in the T20I format again. The selection makes sense. Krishna has experience playing International cricket regularly.
His return to the squad will strengthen the bowling department. Mohammed Siraj removed but Krishna brings a quality option. Different styles of bowling can handle pressure matches.
