Mahendra Singh Dhoni, whom we all fondly call Captain Cool, is once again in the headlines.
This time he has filed a trademark for his famous nickname ‘Captain Cool’. Dhoni, who is so far famous for his calm and cool leadership on the cricket field, has taken a step towards officially naming this name after himself.

Also, he has been inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame 2025, which is another golden moment in his illustrious career.
What is the matter of MS Dhoni’s trademark?
Dhoni applied for the trademark for ‘Captain Cool’ on 5 June 2025, and now its status has become ‘Approved and Advertised’.
This means that this name will now be associated with Dhoni, especially for sports training, coaching and sports related services. It was also published in the Trademark Journal on June 16.
By the way, another company, Prabha Skill Sports, had also applied for this name, but its status is still in ‘correction filed’. Dhoni has won the race!
Dhoni’s entry in ICC Hall of Fame
Dhoni’s name is now shining in the ICC Hall of Fame as well. This year, legends like Australia’s Matthew Hayden and South Africa’s Hashim Amla have also joined him.
ICC praised Dhoni and said, “Dhoni will always be remembered for his calmness under pressure, amazing strategy and unmatched game in the shorter format.”
His fitness, stability and ability to stay on top for a long time made him a legend of cricket.
MS Dhoni’s golden period
Dhoni created history by winning the T20 World Cup in 2007, the ODI World Cup in 2011 and the Champions Trophy in 2013. He is the only captain who has won all three ICC white-ball trophies.
Under his captaincy, India also reached No. 1 in the Test rankings. Be it high-pressure moments or supporting the team, Dhoni’s cool style has always won the hearts of the fans.
‘Captain Cool’ is not just a name, but a part of Dhoni’s personality. His calm demeanor and smart decisions on the field made him a fan favorite.
Now with the trademark and induction into the ICC Hall of Fame, Dhoni’s charm has increased even more.
