Dhoni applied for the trademark for ‘Captain Cool’ on 5 June 2025, and now its status has become ‘Approved and Advertised’.
This means that this name will now be associated with Dhoni, especially for sports training, coaching and sports related services. It was also published in the Trademark Journal on June 16.
By the way, another company, Prabha Skill Sports, had also applied for this name, but its status is still in ‘correction filed’. Dhoni has won the race!
Dhoni’s entry in ICC Hall of Fame
Dhoni’s name is now shining in the ICC Hall of Fame as well. This year, legends like Australia’s Matthew Hayden and South Africa’s Hashim Amla have also joined him.
ICC praised Dhoni and said, “Dhoni will always be remembered for his calmness under pressure, amazing strategy and unmatched game in the shorter format.”
