Rajasthan Royals about to sign 11-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has become the biggest cricket story today. Can you believe a kid this young is already playing professional cricket? Kumar Sangakkara just told everyone how this amazing young player caught their attention.
This little cricket star was only 11 when RR’s team noticed his incredible batting skills. Their scouts spotted him back in 2023 and knew he was something really special. Now he’s making history as the youngest IPL player ever to play professionally.
Sangakkara couldn’t stop talking about how well this boy plays against fast bowling. Most kids his age would be scared of facing quick bowlers like Jofra Archer. But Vaibhav just smashes the ball around like it’s nothing at all.
How Sangakkara First Saw This Cricket Wonder
Kumar Sangakkara on Vaibhav Suryavanshi, shared his first meeting story. He was watching practice when this kid started batting against their best bowlers. Everyone on the field stopped what they were doing to watch him play.
“Suryavanshi has already shown himself to be a very special talent. In 2023, one of the Rajasthan Royals analysts sent through a text saying there’s a very special player we need to watch, get to trials, and look to sign. And the first time I saw him live was after we had signed him, apart from watching some videos of him batting in the nets in Guwahati, batting against Jofra Archer and other seamers that we had. And he made it look very, very easy,” Sangakkara said.
Vaibhav looked so relaxed while facing Jofra Archer’s deadly fast bowling during practice. Kumar Sangakkara on Vaibhav Suryavanshi said he’s never seen natural talent like this before. The kid doesn’t even think about technique – he just sees the ball and hits it. This kind of instinct usually takes years to develop in most cricket players.
