Young cricketer Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was selected for India’s upcoming T20I tour. Ireland and England matches are happening. He’s very young, under 16. Special arrangements are needed as different rules apply in England. Let’s understand why this happens.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s Selection and Background
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi earned his first call-up. The T20I series against Ireland is coming. Two matches are scheduled in Ireland on June 26 and June 28. The England T20I series starts with five matches.
Seven T20Is across both tours. He might play at least one game in the series. Young talent impressed selectors clearly. His IPL performance was amazing.
In the Rajasthan Royals team he played and scored 776 runs that season. Got the Orange Cap award for runs and helped the team reach Qualifier 2. Won multiple awards in the IPL 2026 season.
Domestic cricket performance was strong. Junior teams showed their talent. Young player with a bright future and selectors believe in him strongly. That’s why he is selected for the tour.
ICC and ECB Safeguarding Rules
ICC has strict safeguarding rules as under-16 players need protection. ECB follows similar protocols too. England and Ireland follow rules as players under 16 get special treatment for their safety.
Separate changing rooms are provided and dressing room access is restricted too. Adult players can’t share facilities. This is standard practice now. Child safety is the priority. Rules exist in many sports.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi needs these protections. He’s just 15 years old. Rules are very clear about this age group of players. ECB Safe Hands policy is active. Cricket Regulator is coordinating everything properly as India’s liaison officer is involved too.
Separate Arrangements During the Tour
Vaibhav gets a separate changing room before and after matches only. During matches he joins the team dressing room and he attends team talks also. The hotel room is separate too as his parents will stay with him.
Special ECB permission given for parents to travel throughout the UK. They stay at the team hotel. This is different from India. IPL has no such rules as he shared with RR seniors. But England’s rules are strict. Safeguarding is taken very seriously.
Young players get extra care. Parents’ involvement is very important. ECB coordinates everything properly. The Indian team respects all rules. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi follows everything correctly. Tour arrangements are all set and everything is organized very carefully.
