A heartbreaking accident was averted in the sea of Puri that The speedboat of former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly’s brother Snehasish Ganguly and his wife Arpita capsized near the lighthouse on Saturday evening.
Both narrowly escaped, but this incident shocked everyone.

Arpita herself narrated the story of this horrific accident. In a video message, she said,
“Thank God, we survived. I am still scared. This should not have happened. Security of sea walks should be made more secure.”
Arpita told that after returning to Kolkata, she will write a letter to the Superintendent of Police of Puri and the Chief Minister of Odisha, so that this does not happen in future.
What happened to Sourav Ganguly in Puri?
According to Arpita, their speedboat was hit by a big wave. The wave was so strong that the boat lost its balance and overturned. Snehashish, Arpita and the rest of the passengers fell into the sea. But the lifeguards present there immediately came into action and saved everyone. People nearby said that a big wave overturned the speedboat.
The police confirmed that Snehashish and Arpita were rescued safely. Snehashish, who is the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), said that this accident shocked everyone. Now people are raising questions on the safety of tourists in Puri.
Arpita said, “Our lives were saved, but this accident will be remembered for a lifetime. Such carelessness should not be tolerated at all.”
