Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur has expressed hope that her team will emerge victorious in the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. He believes that the playing conditions in the UAE can be conducive for the Indian team, which can benefit the team.
Due to the political instability in Bangladesh, the ICC is now likely to start organizing this prestigious tournament on October 3 by October 20, with the venue of this match changed to UAE.
The captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, Harmanpreet Kaur, is not worried.
In a recent interview, he said:
“We have done well on such big stages before and this time too we hope to cross the final hurdle.”
The BCCI on Tuesday announced that Harmanpreet Kaur will be the captain of the Indian women’s team in the upcoming T20 World Cup. The 35-year-old captain said the conditions in the UAE will be similar to India and his team will adapt to the new environment.
“We haven’t played a lot of cricket in the UAE, but the conditions there will be similar to Indian conditions. We will adapt quickly, “Harmanpreet told PTI.
“We learn from defeats and overcome obstacles,” he said, highlighting his team’s self-belief and determined approach. This time we will present ourselves in a better way in the World Cup.”
Despite the struggles in the recent Asia Cup final against Sri Lanka, Harmanpreet expressed confidence in the Indian bowling attack and said they will do well in the upcoming World Cup.
“The bowlers are working hard and will fulfil their responsibility in the World Cup,” he said.
Harmanpreet, who led Mumbai Indians to the title in the Women’s Premier League (WPL), also underlined the importance of focusing on the present moment. “It is important for us to play good cricket and evaluate the situation,” he said.
Under Harmanpreet’s leadership, the Indian women’s cricket team is expected to scale new heights in the World Cup.
