Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf is in trouble. The ICC has banned him for two matches due to his behavior during the matches against India in the Asia Cup 2025.
This ban was imposed because he had accumulated four demerit points in 24 months.
He will now be unable to play the ODIs against South Africa on November 4 and 6.

How did Rauf earn four demerit points?
Rauf caused controversy with his behavior during the India-Pakistan matches. He was found guilty of “disrepute to the game” in two separate incidents on September 14 and 28.
This violation occurred under ICC Article 2.21. A total of four points resulted in two suspension points and a ban.
In the same tournament, India’s captain Suryakumar Yadav was fined 30% of his match fee and given two demerit points. Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan was given one point and a warning.
Action against other players
Match referee Andy Pycroft gave a clean chit to Arshdeep Singh. He was charged under Article 2.6 but was acquitted. Jasprit Bumrah pleaded guilty in the final.
He received one demerit point and a warning. Under ICC rules, a Level 1 violation can result in a punishment ranging from a reprimand to a 50% fee deduction.
Four or more points result in a ban from one Test or two limited-overs matches. Demerit points remain on the record for two years.
