Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) registered a magnificent victory in the IPL 2026 Final, defeating Gujarat Titans (GT) by 5 wickets.

Played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, RCB successfully chased down a target of 156 runs in 18 overs. The biggest hero of the team’s victory was Virat Kohli, who played a match-winning unbeaten innings of 75 runs.
Gujarat Titans’ Batting Falters in Final
Having won the toss and elected to bowl first, RCB applied pressure on Gujarat right from the start. Captain Shubman Gill was dismissed after scoring just 10 runs.
Meanwhile, Sai Sudharsan could only manage to score 12 runs. Jos Buttler scored 19 runs but failed to convert it into a substantial innings.
In the middle order, Washington Sundar took charge and scored an unbeaten 50 runs off 37 balls. Thanks to his innings, Gujarat Titans managed to reach a total of 155 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.
For RCB, Rasikh Dar Salam claimed 3 wickets, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood took 2 wickets each.
Virat Kohli Leads RCB Chase with Classy Knock
Chasing a target of 156 runs, RCB was given a brisk start by Venkatesh Iyer, who scored 32 runs off 16 balls.
Subsequently, Virat Kohli anchored the innings from one end and gave the Gujarat bowlers no opportunity to gain a foothold in the match.
Devdutt Padikkal was dismissed early, while Captain Rajat Patidar contributed 15 runs. Rashid Khan attempted to bring Gujarat back into the match by taking two wickets, but Virat Kohli continued to score runs consistently. Tim David also played a useful innings of 24 runs.
Virat Kohli remained unbeaten, finishing with 75 runs off 42 balls. His innings included 9 fours and 3 sixes. In the end, Jitesh Sharma provided him with excellent support, and RCB clinched the match by posting a score of 161/5 in 18 overs.
With this victory, Royal Challengers Bangalore won the IPL 2026 title for the second consecutive year.
