Royal Challengers won the IPL 2026 championship. They beat the Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets. The final was in Ahmedabad at the big stadium. Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 75 runs. He led the chase really well honestly. RCB has now won back-to-back titles. That’s a massive achievement for them.

Only two teams had won consecutive titles before. The Mumbai Indians did it multiple times. Chennai Super Kings also won back-to-back. Now, RCB has joined that exclusive club. Three teams in IPL history achieved this. That’s genuinely special for the franchise. Rajat Patidar captained the team throughout. His leadership was really mature and smart. The whole squad performed well overall.
Virat Kohli ended the season with 675 runs. That’s a fantastic personal tally honestly. Kohli proved he’s still a match-winner. His unbeaten 75 in the final showed his class. Bengaluru fans were celebrating their victory massively. They wanted to welcome their champions home properly.
RCB Will Not Hold Any Victory Parade in Bengaluru
But RCB announced something sad basically. They won’t have a public victory parade. No roadshow or large public gatherings. The team will stay in Ahmedabad first. Players will leave for their destinations after. This decision shocked many Bengaluru fans. Everyone expected a big parade celebration.
RCB issued an official statement about it. The franchise urged fans to celebrate at home. They asked people to celebrate with family only. Relive the memories at home privately. Come to the stadium next year. Support the team as the 12th man army. The players appreciated fan support genuinely.
But why no parade? The answer is tragic and sad. A horrible stampede happened in Bengaluru. That was after RCB won last year. June 4th, 2025. Over 2 lakh fans gathered outside the stadium. The authorities hadn’t permitted that. But people came anyway in massive numbers. 11 fans died in that stampede. Over 50 more people got injured badly.
Safety Concerns Led to This Difficult Decision
That tragedy changed everything for celebrations. The stampede was absolutely devastating honestly. 11 innocent people lost their lives. More than 50 got hurt in the rush. Families lost loved ones tragically. It was a nightmare situation basically. Nobody wants something like that to happen.
After that incident, authorities took action. The Karnataka government banned public celebrations. No victory parades allowed in Bengaluru. No open road shows anymore. No bike rallies permitted. No open-air match screenings allowed. These restrictions were put in place. To prevent such tragedies from happening again.
RCB respects these safety measures completely. The franchise understands the authorities’ decision. Fan safety is more important than celebrations. Champions can celebrate in other ways. Private celebrations with family and loved ones. That’s safer and more meaningful anyway. The franchise wants everyone to stay safe. That’s the most important thing honestly.
