Trade talk is heating up in the IPL as franchises plan for the next auction. One reported idea has surprised many cricket followers because of the players involved. We explain the key facts and the open questions below.
Liam Livingstone and Khaleel Ahmed Trade News
Chennai Super Kings reportedly explore a swap deal with Sunrisers Hyderabad for England all-rounder Liam Livingstone. Indian fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed could move to SRH in return. Livingstone is known for explosive batting in the middle order.
A Cricbuzz report says CSK remain open to a player exchange. The talks may also include another CSK player besides Khaleel. Everything still depends on whether SRH decide to release Livingstone.
Early Stage of the SRH-CSK Swap Update
A source says several franchises and players are part of the trade talks. The source also stresses that nothing is final and the deal may not happen.
CSK are among several teams that reportedly like Livingstone ahead of the auction. SRH have not yet decided whether to retain him or let him go. Trade talks usually continue until the retention and auction dates arrive.
Livingstone’s Struggles With SRH
SRH signed Livingstone for INR 13 crore at the previous auction. He played only a couple of matches in IPL 2026 and scored 15 runs.
His highest score was 14, and he spent most of the season on the bench. He also struggled for Glasgow Cosmic in the European T20 Premier League. In his last 10 matches there, he scored only one half-century.
RCB signed him for INR 8.75 crore at the previous mega auction. He scored 112 runs in eight innings, with one half-century.
He also took two wickets in five matches at an economy of 8.44. RCB released him because his returns did not justify his price. Even so, RCB won their first IPL title with him in the squad.
Why the Idea Surprises Fans
Many followers question why the Liam Livingstone and Khaleel Ahmed trade makes sense for CSK. His recent form makes CSK’s reported interest hard to explain. CSK have not shared the reason behind their reported interest.
The latest SRH-CSK swap update remains a report, not a confirmed deal. We will track the Liam Livingstone and Khaleel Ahmed trade and share any fresh news.
