Player trades often shift IPL team balances before every auction. A new reported deal has now caught the attention of many fans. Here is a simple explanation of what is being discussed.
Marcus Stoinis and Mohsin Khan Trade Explained
Punjab Kings may approach Lucknow Super Giants to acquire fast bowler Mohsin Khan. According to a Sportstar report, PBKS could offer Marcus Stoinis in exchange.
Stoinis could return to LSG, where he played from 2022 to 2024. He returned to PBKS for his second stint with them in 2025. This potential move would reunite Stoinis with a franchise he knows well.
Why PBKS Want Mohsin Khan
PBKS are reportedly discussing a major trade with Mumbai Indians involving Hardik Pandya. The proposed deal could send Arshdeep Singh and Vishnu Vinod to MI. If Arshdeep leaves, PBKS would need a strong replacement for their bowling attack.
Mohsin Khan could fill that gap as a left-arm pace option. He has taken 38 wickets in 31 matches since debuting for LSG in 2022. His possible arrival would give PBKS another useful left-arm fast-bowling option.
How the Hardik Pandya Deal Connects
The Stoinis and Mohsin exchange is linked to PBKS’ reported interest in Hardik Pandya. If Hardik joins PBKS, Stoinis’ role in the team could shrink.
PBKS could then replace Stoinis with Mohsin to protect their bowling strength. These linked moves show how one trade can quickly affect several teams.
November 17, 2026, is the reported deadline for franchises to submit retention lists. The trade window stays open until one week before the mini-auction. The IPL 2027 mini-auction is scheduled for December 16 in Goa.
The tournament itself is expected to begin around March 10 next year. Rishabh Pant has already returned to Delhi Capitals, while Kuldeep Yadav moved to LSG.
Delhi Capitals also exchanged T. Natarajan with Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Zeeshan Ansari. These completed trades show that franchises are already active before the auction.
Current Status of the Trade Talks
Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the previous edition and will enter as defending champions. The reported trades remain speculative, and no official confirmation has been provided.
