Women’s franchise cricket returns to India early next year with a packed month. The league has now shared its plans and fans can start preparing.
WPL 2027 Schedule: Dates and Opening Match
The BCCI announced the plan on November 4, 2026 ahead of the fifth edition. The tournament runs from January 14 to February 7, 2027. The event lasts about three and a half weeks from start to finish.
All five franchises will compete for the championship during that period. Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru will face Mumbai Indians in the opening match. That game takes place in Vadodara on January 14.
Venues and Match Count
Vadodara and Mumbai host all 22 matches including the playoffs. Each city stages 11 matches which splits the workload evenly across two venues.
Vadodara hosts the first 11 matches from January 14 to 24. All five teams begin their campaigns in Vadodara before the event moves.
Mumbai then takes over and hosts the remaining league games and the playoffs. Brabourne Stadium serves as the home for that second phase.
Complete Fixture Structure and Playoffs
The league stage finishes on February 3, 2027, after 20 matches in total. Those 20 league matches decide which three teams reach the playoffs. The top-ranked team then earns a direct place in the final.
The second- and third-placed teams meet in the Eliminator on February 5, 2027. The winner of that match then moves on to the final. The final takes place on February 7, 2027, at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
