India’s star all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy got medical release to play the Australia T20I series. The 21-year-old fit from his left quadriceps injury, picked up during the ODI series. Reddy missed the third ODI in Sydney but looks ready to play now.

Nitish Kumar Reddy’s Injury Recovery Update
Reddy hurt his left quadriceps during India’s second ODI against Australia in Adelaide. The injury looked serious enough to rule him out of the third ODI. Kuldeep Yadav replaced him for that Sydney match which India won convincingly by 9 wickets.
BCCI hasn’t put out an official statement confirming Reddy’s fitness yet which seems odd. But reports team sources suggest the injury wasn’t as bad. India’s star all-rounder will join the T20I team without any issues for all five matches.

The first T20I happens in Canberra on October 29. This gives Reddy a week to prove fitness. Coaches will watch him closely during practice before adding him to the playing 11. His all-round skills make him vital for India’s T20I plans against Australia’s strong batting.
Other Injury Concerns in the Indian Squad
Shreyas Iyer remains in Australia waiting for doctors to clear him for travel back home. He hurt his ribs taking a catch during the final ODI. That catch put him in hospital. India’s star all-rounder status doesn’t apply to Iyer, but his absence hurts the middle order badly.
Iyer needs more tests before flying back to India at the NCA facilities. The team management hasn’t given any timing for his return to cricket yet.

Players Returning From Injuries Soon
KL Rahul left Australia early and reached India to play against the South Africa A team. He’ll play an unofficial Test series to get match practice. This match is important before bigger matches arrive. Hardik Pandya is also working his way back to fitness targeting the South Africa T20Is.
Hardik will be fit to play matches by November. India hosts South Africa for the T20I series. Having NKR, Hardik, and Rahul back in the team supports India’s squad for the upcoming matches ahead.
