Hardik Pandya had a terrible season at Mumbai. His batting was really poor honestly. Scored 206 runs in 10 matches with an average of 22.89. His strike rate was 138. But no fifties which is disappointing. His bowling was also bad this year, with just 4 wickets at an economy of 11.43. Mumbai finished 9th because of poor performance.
Hardik doesn’t want to stay at MI anymore. He apparently wants to leave the franchise. The guy is looking to get traded basically. Mumbai might release him in the auction. Or they could do a trade deal with someone. Multiple franchises are apparently interested in him.
Three big teams are apparently chasing Hardik Pandya. Each team has different reasons for wanting him.
- Chennai Super Kings
CSK finished outside the playoffs for three straight years. MS Dhoni might retire soon apparently. The team needs a strong finisher badly. Hardik Pandya could fill that role honestly. He can bat aggressively and take games deep. CSK definitely needs his all round skills.
CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad has been struggling lately. Having Hardik could support the leadership. The all-rounder brings captaincy experience from Mumbai. That could help CSK tremendously going forward. There were already trade rumors floating around. Apparently during a CSK vs MI match. So the connection already exists between teams.
CSK wants to rebuild its entire squad. Hardik would be a good addition. He’s a proven performer despite recent form. The franchise needs youth and experience mixed. Hardik brings both qualities to the table. CSK is probably their best option honestly.
- Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan already made big moves recently. They traded for Ravindra Jadeja before this season. So they’re actively trying to improve the squad. Adding Hardik would make them stronger. An all-rounder like him is valuable. RR made the playoffs this year. But they want to go further next time.
Hardik’s seam bowling skills would help them. RR has good batting options around. They need more bowling depth honestly. His all round abilities suit their system. Rajasthan could definitely use someone like him. The trade makes sense for both sides basically.
- Kolkata Knight Riders
Kolkata had a poor season this year. Started with five straight losses apparently. Ajinkya Rahane’s captaincy didn’t work at all. They finished seventh without making the playoffs. KKR needs experienced all-rounders for sure. Hardik could be a solution for them.
Adding Hardik Pandya would give KKR options. They could try him as captain possibly. Or he could just be a player. Either way he’d strengthen their squad. KKR made so many mistakes this season. Hardik’s experience could prevent future errors.
